January 9 was not only a great day but my brother's birthday. So he had a great idea of spending the day at Greenville zoo. It was a great family day and allowed an opportunity to bring my camera along and take some great pictures. One of the great picture opportunities was seeing my wife interact with my kids and be a Mom. Always makes my day knowing my kids have the best mom. The day was a cold cloudy day with light rain which made for ok conditions to take pictures.
So you guessed which photos I'm going to show first off would be pictures of my wife and son. This is Dylan's third trip to the zoo, so he's kinda figuring out what's going on and enjoying seeing the animals. There's a lot more interactions nowadays with him instead of the previous visits to the zoo. Starting off is my favorite picture of the day of my wife being a Mom. The second picture is both of them checking out the animals from afar. Third picture is also one of my favorites of Dylan holding Mommy's hand walking to the next attraction. Last is a picture of them posing by a lion.
Let's not forget the man of the hour my brother Chad. If not for him we would not be enjoying this wonderful day. Below are a couple pictures of him shooting his new Canon DSLR along with spending time with my son. Chad is a more experienced shooter and has a great composition in his photo's.
With being a trip to the zoo brings pictures of some of the animals. I ending up missing a lot of shots I would like to have but didn't. There were several different factors when dealing with wild animals and getting my camera settings right. I did happen to get some great shots along with a portfolio worthy picture of a lion. I put in the black n white and colored version because I liked the picture so much. I tried to freeze the leopard in motion and get a great shot but I thought it still came out well. That picture was also taking with thick glass in front of you. Lightroom dehaze feature does a great job of taking the glass glare away. The last picture is a couple of tortoises.
So after a long great day at the zoo, it was nice to come home and relax your feet and let the kids catch up on some sleep. Zoo trips are always great and a fun time to spend with the family. My youngest son, Noah, made the trip as well but enjoyed a nice ride in the stroller and caught up on some sleep. Next are just a couple random pictures to show what a great day it was.
I really do appreciate the interest in my blog and my photography. As this is a learning experience while trying to take great photo's of my kids, I do appreciate critiques and tips to better my photography. If I can answer any questions please feel free to comment below or right out to me a firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks, Michael
